the adoption process to make sure you understand how it works and get
answers to all your questions.

Provide
ongoing counseling before, during and after placement of your child. We
are glad to meet with you as often and for as long as you need to. If
you prefer not to have counseling, we can meet with you only the few
times absolutely necessary.

Help
you find a doctor or other prenatal care provider.
|

Assist
with transportation.
|
 |
Help
you access public services like Oregon Health Plan and WIC.
|
 |
Assist
with legally allowable pregnancy-related living and medical expenses.
|
 |
Help
you find an excellent family for your child—one that meets your
requirements and is interested in the same kind of relationship you are
before and after placement.

 |
Negotiate a legally enforceable post-placement contact agreement—one
that meets the needs of you, your child and the adoptive parents.
Contact may include pictures and letters, phone calls, e-mails, a
limited number of visits or a relationship that’s like family.

Prepare
a birth plan that spells out your wishes for your time at the hospital.
|
 |
Prepare
the documents you will sign for the adoption, and explain clearly their
meaning and effects. We are happy for you to take the documents to an
attorney for further explanation if you would like; the cost is a
legally allowable expense that we will pay for.

Provide
you with books, articles, videos and other resources about pregnancy,
childbirth preparation, adoption, birth parents, adopted people and
their needs, etc.

Support
you at the hospital before, during and after the birth as much or as
little as works for you.
|
 |
Provide
support for children or other family members, helping you plan how to
talk with them about your adoption plan and helping them come to terms
with your decisions.

 |
Provide
ongoing support after the placement of your child to help with recovery,
in the form of available counseling, books, articles, websites, and
contact with other birth parents. |
